Cheltenham Ladies college

Staff and pupils at Cheltenham Ladies College are celebrating as all students pass the Diploma, with 60% achieving 40 or more points (out of a possible 45).  Vicky Tuck, Principal, says “We are absolutely thrilled with these sensational results. This is only our second set of results, having introduced the two year Diploma in 2008 and I could not be more impressed with the achievements of staff and girls. These girls can now enjoy the end of term celebrations secure in the knowledge they have met their university offers! The IB diploma programme provides an excellent preparation for working and living in a global environment. With its emphasis on independent and life-long learning and the promotion of internationalism and cultural understanding, it mirrors College’s values and broad educational aims.  As I move on to the International School of Geneva, the birthplace of the IB, I am proud that the College is fulfilling its destiny to be one of the most successful IB schools in the world.”   

Girls studying the IB this year secured 3 Oxbridge places, plus offers from US at Georgetown, Dartmouth, Cornell and NYU, one place to read medicine and one to read veterinary medicine. Almost every girl who took the IB secured their first choice of University.
