Cheltenham Science Festival on 9-13 June 2010

Professor Lord Robert Winston describes the Cheltenham science festiaval as “unquestionably the leading science festival in the country”, The Times Cheltenham Science Festival is a five-day celebration of science – with this years theme of Decadence and the way we think in the world around us.The Discoverzone offer interactive science for all ages with Free admision at Cheltenham Town Hall.Bitesize Science offers free short talks and performances throughout the festival, with exhibits of the British Steam Car and the Mars Rover and Family Fun Days on the 12th-13th June at Imperial Gardens.
Physicist and presenter Brian Cox and ‘chef of the decade’ Heston Blumenthal are Guest Directors, and have helped shape a programme with over 100 thought-provoking and innovative events: exploring everything from the natural world and health secrets to the technological wizardry that will shape tomorrow’s world. Top scientists will examine the latest medical technology, debate the future of our climate, explore the next intelligent methods of travel, question the things that affect all our lives in the world around us– and lots more!
Science for schools offers an exciting programme on Wednesday - Friday with topics such as To Infinity and beyond, Chemistry with a bang, bending it like Beckham,Rock guitar in 11 dimensions, The Earth sun and Moon, and Water Rickets are just a few of the topics for the special Science for schools programme.

Lilve experiments and surprising discoveries, an explosion of science. Big names such as Paul Davies, Tony Robinson, Bill Bryson, Ok Pannenborg, Evan Davis and many others descend on the Festival; and Robin Ince returns with Ben Miller for a science and comedy secion– all at Cheltenham Town Hall.
