  Spring Season 2011

The Bacon Theatre, at Dean Close School, has a wonderful season of professional theatre planned for the new season.

Bacon Theatre situated at Dean Close School's owes its name to one of its former headmasters  Mr Christopher Bacon who raised funds to fullfill his dream to build a theatre. Completed in 1991, and is the most contempory Theatre in Cheltenham. The Bacon Theatre is not only a distinctive feature of Dean Close School's Drama Department but also is also a hosting venue of many professional and amateur shows throughout the year. The theatre is fully equipped to professional standard with the latest in audio-visual technology with seating capacity of 566 on two levels. In August The Open Air Theatre Festival takes place in the Tuckwell Amphitheatre, which is also located in the theatre's grounds. The idyllic, stone built, Tuckwell Amphitheatre is the perfect setting for the Open-air Theatre Festival, and  In October it forms one of the the venues for Cheltenham Literature Festival events.
